The performances of the best XV century harnesses

During the second half of XV century, the great armour manufacturing centres of Milan, Flanders and South Germany have always know how to adapt their armour to the taste of their western Europe customers. Many of whom wished to combine the best of both styles: the good protection offered by the Italian style and the excellent mobility typical of the Gothic style.

Either produced in Flanders, Milan or within the Holly Roman Empire, an Italo-Germic armour will offer you several advantages:

  • It will be easy for you to freely move or ride. This style is very mobile and comfortable to wear with a minimal restriction of movements. (Excellent mobility of the arms, but also of the torso and legs)
  • Ideal for jousting and equestrian games: You can easily salute your opponent by raising your lance before each course of joust, or couch your lance under the armpit without hindrance.
  • Perfect for ground combat: fighting on foot with swords is also a real pleasure in this harness which allows you to take the most complex guards of the German school.

Why choosing an Italio-German armor ?

Choose it for its unequalled mobility : designed after our patient research, it is exactly articulated like a museum original. If you want to fight with the same mobility than a XV century man-at-arms (or astonish the ladies by turning a cartwheels like the famous marshal Boucicault;) this is what you need !

Choose it for its good protection : the large couters deflect or absorb even the heaviest blows targeting this fragile part of the arm. Breastplate and plackart largely overlap each other, which offers a double protection to most of the torso. And the big tassets, typical of Italian style, protect very efficiently the area between the fauld and the legs, which is so often targeted in combat.
