Gabriel Armoury

Equestrian harness

New

This armor is part of a group of 5 armors made for the Museum-Castle of Beaugency, which was the residence of the famous Dunois, one of the great companions of Joan of Arc.

Do you want to discover how your next jousting armor might look like ?

Do not hesitate any longer !

The castle has re-opened its doors. It is only 1 hour 45 minutes from Paris by train and only 15 minutes drive from the castle of Meung where I have my workshop.

Do you dream about a mobile and comfortable armor with a minimal restriction of movements?  Do you dream about a harness that could allow you to easily salute your opponent by raising your lance before each course of joust, or freely couch your lance under the armpit without hindrance ?

Do you want to be able to attend all the most magnificent tournaments and events, especially those which require perfectly historically accurate equipments ?

We can make your dream come true !

Why choosing this type of harness ?

Choose it for its unequalled mobility : designed after our patient research, it is exactly articulated like a museum original. If you want to fight with the same mobility than a XV century man-at-arms (or astonish the ladies by turning a cartwheels like the famous marshal Boucicault;) this is what you need !

Choose it for its good protection : the large couters deflect or absorb even the heaviest blows targeting this fragile part of the arm. Breastplate and plackart largely overlap each other, which offers a double protection to most of the torso. And the big tassets, typical of Italian style, protect very efficiently the area between the fauld and the legs, which is so often targeted in combat.

And a beautiful gold plated chamfron (similar to those worn among French and Burgundian ordinance companies) will allow you to match the protection of your mount and your own harness.
